THANK YOU COCHRANE INTERNATIONAL

SMASH AND GRABBERS BEWARE

You will all know from previous emails and newsletters sent out by Sunninghill Community Security that the smash and grab problems that we have been experiencing over the past few years on the corner of Maxwell and Witkoppen roads have more or less come to an end since the installation of the thermal cameras sponsored by Eskom.  You will also know that this problem then moved to the Bowling Road Bridge as you enter Sunninghill.

A few weeks back we sent out an email to the community asking for advice and suggestions on erecting some sort of barricade to prevent these criminals from performing their “smash and grabs” and escaping onto the freeway below.  We would like to thank all those who responded,  we received some excellent advice (and some rather amusing advice too).  A large volume of the community who did respond recommended a product known as ClearVu fencing supplied by a company called Cochrane International.  I contacted Cochrane to chat to them about this fencing. Much to my delight and after hearing about the security problems our residents and visitors to our suburb were experiencing, Cochrane International offered to erect their ClearVu fencing at this smash and grab hotspot free of charge as a service to the community.

Installation has begun and many of you might have already noticed it.  On behalf of the community of Sunninghill, visitors to Sunninghill and the Sandton Police (as we have discussed this problem jointly), we would like to thank Cochrane International for their generosity.  It is truly wonderful to know that there are individuals and companies out there that want to make a difference by giving back to the community, especially on important issues such as safety and security.

We will as usual keep you all posted.
