Hats off to the Sandton Saps!!

Just under two weeks ago the Sandton Saps asked Resident Associations to warn the community of hi-jackings performed by “The Blue Light Gang”.  Yesterday evening the Sandton Saps, while on a routine patrol in Witkoppen Road in Sunninghill came across members of this notorious gang, who had pulled a motorist off the road and were in the act of hi-jacking her.  The alert and brave officers noticed the blue light in this unmarked vehicle and stopped to investigate.  The information we have is that a shootout followed where one suspect was shot and killed and three arrested.

Sunninghill Community would like to thank the Sandton Saps for being pro-active in warning the community they protect of these criminals and congratulate them on the bravery of the officers involved in this arrest.  Residents should continue being alert as the criminals arrested are probably not the only members of this notorious gang, however the arrests made yesterday will have a huge impact on these criminals being able to operate in Sandton. 

It is time we as South Africans took our Country back from the criminals and we in the Sandton Policing district are certainly doing so.  Sunninghill Community is proud to be associated with The Sandton Saps!!
