Cleaning up our suburb

On Friday the 12th of June, Sunninghill Community, with money donated by concerned residents, hired 20 casual labourers to clean up our suburb.  These casuals were deployed in groups throughout the area.  Some 200 bags of litter were collected from the streets of Sunninghill.

The “litter campaign” was extremely successful and we would like to thank those residents who donated money towards the casual labourers we hired.  Thanks must also go to Builders Warehouse who supplied gloves for the casuals and the Sunninghill Guest Lodge who provided the labourers with lunch and liquid refreshments.

Sunninghill Community would like this to be an ongoing campaign and plan to hold litter clean ups like this every two months or so, depending on the support received from residents and businesses in the area.  We appeal to all businesses, residents and especially shopping centres in the suburb to keep the areas around their premises clean.  If everyone does their bit it will make a huge impact in keeping our suburb a first world area in which we feel proud to work and live.   If you would like to make a donation towards our campaign, please contact the Sunninghill Community Office on suncommunity@iafrica.com.
